Our
family approach to martial arts has something for everyone: Adults
lose weight and get into great shape, while learning self-defense
and releasing stress. Children get all the benefits of our after-school
program, and families can improve their relationships while spending
quality time together. It's a fun and fulfilling activity for men,
women, and children of any age!

On behalf of Kennydale PTA, and as Chair of the 2007 “Cruising to Excellence” PTA auction, I
would like to thank you for your generous donation of our event specific “Kids
Night”.
While the adults guests were enjoying an evening of fun at Renton Technical
College our child(ren) were
able to enjoy the pizza and games that you donated. Our 2007 auction had an increase of 110
guests over last year. I attribute a
percentage of that increase to Lee’s generous donation by providing the
childcare for Kennydale parents and guests.
This was a large donation on your part, and it was reflecting in not
only the increased participation, but the increase in money raised at the
event.
I had parents provide rave reviews from their children that
attended the Kids Night. I applaud you
for your dedication to teaching our youth such a holistic approach to
exercise. In addition to the art of Tae
Kwon Do, which develops self-discipline, balance and numerous other physical
and spiritual benefits, I especially appreciate the effort you put into instilling
the life-skills of goal setting, self-control, courtesy, integrity, confidence,
self-esteem, self-awareness, perseverance, respect and dedication.
I recently read of a study performed by Bob Schleser, sports psychologist at
the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he found that children who took
martial arts classes dramatically increased their “perceived competence” in
areas ranging from social and cognitive skills to maternal acceptance. The study pointed out that children in martial
arts feel proud and successful; they experienced increased confidence, were
better at being organized and have a longer attention span in addition to
decreasing our ever increasing problem of obesity and Type II diabetes along
with ADHD, behavior problems or learning disabilities benefiting from the
structured learning program that Tae Kwon Do offers. What you provided the night of May 19th
is far from the average babysitter!
Thank you again for partnering with us.
I trust that based upon the overwhelmingly aspects of your school that
allowing children to have a brief orientation to the sport through Kids Night
will allow parents to see the value of enrolling their children in Tae Kwon Do
at Lee’s.
Again, I cannot thank you enough for your donation.
Sincerely,
Janet Hill

Thank you for hosting such an awesome summer camp ! My boys loved the camp. It
was safe, fun and provided them with structured activities with trained
professional staff. I really wanted my boys to workout, sweat, learn and have
fun. They did ! They can't wait to go back next summer.
Mark and Kelly Maileck:
"My daughter Jessica has been taking lessons at your school for about a month now
and I'm just so impressed at her progress and her application of the lessons you
teach. Tonight we discussed her day at school as we folded laundry. She told me
that when it's time to line up to go in or out of the classroom, she gets in line
right away, keeps her hands to herself, and doesn't say a word. She said, "That
means I'm exercising my self control muscle." She was so proud of herself and I
was equally as proud. I like how your school teaches traits that will help the
students become conscious of their behavior and take control from within. It's so
nice to know that you are partnering with us as her parents in the discipline
process. She loves Tae Kwon Do! I'd just like to say a big "thank you" to
Instructor Robert and Instructor Geoffry for all you do. You've made a very
positive impact on our daughter's life in such a short amount of time. I really
appreciate the quality and variety in Jessica's classes.
Thanks from pleased parents, Mark and Kelly Maileck"

"I am writing to you in beautiful 103° weather in sunny Arizona. I hope you're all training
hard and living healthy! I miss you guys so much!
I wanted to write to tell you about my experiences in martial arts down here. At our
student recreation center classes are offered in Kokondo, American Pankration, Hwa Rang
Do, Aikido, Shotokan Karate, and Jiu Jitsu. I have tried almost all the classes once or
twice to find a new martial art and expand my knowledge.
In every class I have tried, I have been amazed to find that I know something. I know
techniques, falls, rolls (which I'm getting better at!), drills, weapons, or some part of
the martial art already. This is undoubtedly because Instructor Robert incorporates pieces
of different martial arts and different exercises into the curriculum at LMA. He has
created an awesome system to develop a well-rounded martial artist!
I also miss instructors from Lee's Martial Arts. I am so much more grateful of our
teaching style and attitude towards students now that I have experienced so many others
these past two weeks. I miss the friendly, supportive, family atmosphere at Lee's Martial
Arts!
I appreciate our dojang even more than I did before. I miss you guys!
With love,
Instructor Courtney"
I grew up watching Bruce Lee and old Kung Fu movies. I loved them and I loved the martial arts.
And although I never learned a martial art as a child, my interest in it stayed with me from childhood
through adulthood. When I became an adult and could make my own decisions in life, I couldn't afford
lessons. When I could afford them, other excuses surfaced to keep me from tissuing my interests. I say
"excuses'' because I mean "excuses.'' I kept saying things like "when I have more time," or when I'm
in better shape or "when I lose a few (or more) pounds.''
It wasn't until 2001, when I was thirty years old, that I stopped creating reasons why I couldn't
do things, and started creating ways I could. Not that I really had much of a low self-esteem problem
that I ever thought I couldn't achieve anything I set my mind to, but, in a couple of areas of my life,
I let self-doubt, procrastination, and fear make my decisions for me, like the decision to start tae
kwon do.
For years my husband and I moved around the country for job related reasons and we looked at different
martial arts schools along the way. Maybe it was that self-doubt or fear, but none of those schools felt
right for me. The moment I walked through the doors of the Renton Lee's Martial Arts Academy, I knew this
was where I belonged and where my family belonged. Initially I was only there to observe the Little Kickers
class for my then four year old son, (I was still making excuses for myself). On that first day, I sat and
scrutinized the class, the instructor, and the staff, trying to find something wrong, but the family
oriented atmosphere, the sense of respect, and the caring but firm nature of the instructor toward his
students prevailed. This was where I wanted my family to be and I signed my son up immediately.
He had been taking his lessons for over two months when I just couldn't stand watching from the sidelines
any longer. This was my passion. This is what I was interested in doing. It no longer mattered that I had
hit 235 pounds on the scale. No more excuses! I signed up in June of 2001, and by September, my husband
joined as well.
We all have gained so many benefits from being a member of this school that I will only name a few.
My son is disciplined, respectful, and active, (unlike a large portion of today's television-watching,
video-game-playing youth). My husband has become much more self-confident, has lost about 40 pounds,
and now feels like the protector of his family. As for me, I am finally pursuing a life-long interest.
I have made the best friends of my life. I have so much more self-esteem and self-confidence that I know
in my heart more than ever that I can take on the world and conquer it. And as for my health, I am now
over 70 pounds lighter, 100 percent healthier, and still improving.

I have been living in the Northwest for the last eight years. My husband (David), two children
(Nathan and Rachel) and I, moved out here from Penn. because of a career opportunity for David.
Because of this job for David I was able to be a stay at home Mom, and spent four years homeschooling
my kids. Now they are in Jr. high and returned to school this past fall. In the near future we'll be
moving back to our roots in upstate New York, closer to our extended family.
I began practicing TKD two and a half years ago. Tae Kwon Do has been a life altering experience
for me. In the first year I lost 32lbs and discovered how to live a healthy life style. I plan on
continuing my training in TKD after moving to NY and attaining my black belt. I am also committed to
continue learning about health and fitness, possibly pursuing a career in the industry. I am grateful
to be part of the S.W. A.T. team and to the staff and instructors at Lee's Martial Arts.
Because of my experience here, I will be a practicing martial artist the rest of my life!

- A Proud Father's Testimony:
My oldest daughter Serenity began training in Taekwondo almost 6 years ago when she was three
and a half years old. She was the first student in the Lil' Kickers program here . The benefits
are endless and I could go on forever. Not only does it feel great as a dad knowing my lil' baby
will be able to protect herself but more importantly the confidence, courtesy and mental awareness
she bas of her surroundings. She is a academic achiever, student of the month and participant in
2002 & 2003 Jr. Olympics. She also took 2 bronze this March of '04 in Puerto Rico's Jr. Olympics
"Los Gallitos".
Serenity or "Nini" as she is known is a born leader, outgoing and social, and has goals to be an
actress and model. She bas 5 years experience in Gymnastics and enjoys playing basketball. TKD
has helped her learn dedication, commitment and respect at a young age (something very rarely
taught in schools). Nini has learned many valuable Life Skills here at Lee's Martial Arts. Nini
loves God and prays for everyone at Lee's Martial Arts daily.

"Coach Robert, you touched the hearts, bodies, and lives at Talbot Hill. The students
are still greeting and leaving with a smile. You inspired many of my students to try a new art that will make
them better in life. We will be happy to have you back."

"Lee's Martial Arts program is awesome! Head Instuctor Robert Morrison does an
excellent job of incorporating martial arts with physical education. During the time he spent at my school,
students learned martial arts skills and the importance of discipline, fitness, and respect toward all age
groups in an enjoyable environment. If you have an opportnity to work with Robert Morrison, do not pass it
up because he is worth the time."
Curtis Brotherton, Kennydale PE Specialist:
"I recently had two teachers from Lee's Martial Arts volunteer to teach Taekwondo
lessons to 1st - 5th graders at Kennydale. The lesson focused on fitness, self-control, respect, positive
thinking, safety, and some basic moves. Both Coach Robert and Geofrey were very positve and enthusiastic
with the students. The students worked very hard and had a great time. I was very satisfied with the lessons
taught and would highly recommend if for you, your school or business."
Dominic Corr, Physical Education Campbell Hill Elementary:
"Mr. Morrison from Lee's Martial Arts came to Campbell Hill and taught the students
the 3 rules of concentration. The students responded very well. They learned to make positive comments to
themselves like, "I am winner, I am a leader, and I am a champion". I look forward to having Mr. Morrison to
Campbell Hill again in the near future."
