After School Kids (ASK) Program

Our ASK Program is designed for children ages 6-12, who come to practice right after school. Infused with inspiring martial arts-based fun and games like Ninja Turtle Tag, and Capture the Dragon, this program focuses on the physical fitness of traditional Tae Kwon Do and a set of invaluable life skills we call the five tenets of Tae Kwon Do. The five tenets are: courtesy, self-control, integrity, perseverance, and indomitable spirit. Additionally, we start our classes with a review of the children’s home rules which kids are required to memorize and practice at home in order to receive promotion in our school. These rules stress the importance of family, respect for self and others, and that school comes first. Children with unsatisfactory grades in school will not be permitted to advance in the ASK program until they improve their school performance. It is this parent/instructor partnering relationship that gives our school the warm family atmosphere that we are well known for.

As students move through the different colored belts in our school their class times will periodically change. We offer rank-specific beginner, intermediate, and advanced level training with a minimum of two instructors on the floor at all times.

While the average ages for students in our ASK Program are 6-12 years old, many 5-year-olds who have completed the Lil Kickers and Lil Ninjas Programs have transitioned into the ASK program seamlessly. So bring your kids down to try Tae Kwon Do at Lee’s Family Martial Arts Academy.
