Robert Morrison - Head Instructor
All of our instructors are professionals who have been developed to offer the highest quality instruction. Every member of our instructor team is approachable, caring, and possesses a true love for teaching martial arts. After taking just a few lessons, you will see why Lee's Martial Arts is Renton's choice for martial arts.
Proud father of 3: Serenity 13 (2nd Dan), Jada 11 (1st Dan) and Roman 7 (still working on Black Belt!). I have been training at LMA Renton since its inception in 1996. Prior to Tae Kwon Do, I wrestled for 7 years. In 1998, as a full time student at UW, a 24 year old husband and father of 2, we bought the school and became full time professional martial artists.
I love seeing students gain confidence, coordination, and skills, as well as losing weight. I learn from all the students on a daily basis. I love the "Tae" (kicking) and "Kwon" (punching), but the "Do", the Way, has taught me the most, the discipline and focus it takes to be successful. I love teaching Black Belts and giving them the opportunity to lead. I would like to open more schools and provide lucrative careers for martial artists with passion and the desire to never stop learning.
I enjoy training, reading, movies with family and friends, bike riding, and the many opportunities of traveling that Tae Kwon Do has provided me. I also love MMA!
Some of Instructor Robert's achievements include:
- 1999 to 2008 National Heavy Weight competitor

- 2002 US Nationals Bronze Sparring
- 2002 US Team Trials
- 2002 US Nationals Silver Forms
- 2003 US Nationals Quarter Finals

Geofrey Driver – Program Director
My martial arts training began in 1967 at the Louisiana Karate Association in New Orleans. I studied Shotakan karate under Master Takayuki Mikami and earned the rank of 1st Kyu (Gup) brown belt. The traditional instruction that I received focused on basics, forms, and philosophy. This was the foundation and backbone of my martial arts training, an experience that changed my life forever.
In 1971 my family moved to Florida where I began to study Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan from Charles Blackburn. On May 22nd, 1973, I tested for and received my 1st Dan black belt under Sabunim Blackburn and Master Jae Chul Chin, president of the American Tang Soo Do Federation.
After a long sabbatical, I met a veteran Hapkido/Tae Kwon Do instructor named Stewart Hamilton. I progressed to 6th Gup blue belt in Hapkido under his tutelage.
I am excited now to be continuing my training along with my daughter, Isabella, at Lee’s Martial Arts Academy under chief instructor Robert Morrison. Sabunim Morrison’s gracious invitation to join the SWAT team and become the Program Director at LMA has rekindled the flame of my first love, the Martial Arts.

Instructor Micah enjoys witnessing the changes in students. They walk in the door, timid and afraid, then progress and gain confidence and humility.
On a personal note, Instructor Micah enjoys camping, hiking, fishing, art, reading and spending time with family. If you would like to contact Instructor Micah, he can be reached at micahgraves@hotmail.com.
Doug Brandt
Doug began his involvement in Tae Kwon Do, and Lee’s Martial Arts, in March 2001. Doug initially got involved with martial arts to increase the confidence of his then 7 year old daughter Alexa. Doug and Alexa have been active in Tae Kwon Do ever since and recently (July 2007) earned their 2nd degree Black Belts. Doug’s younger daughter Amy began training in 2003, at age 6, and earned her 1st degree Black Belt in December 2007.
Doug has been active in SWAT since its inception. This involvement has allowed Doug to contribute to the success of the school through planning events, teaching, and developing curriculum. SWAT participation provides a way to give back to the school after receiving so much.
Doug also has a keen interest in martial arts photography. On most belt test nights you can see Doug running up and down the mat with a video camera in hand to capture some of the great moments during belt testing. Doug also loves to use his photography skills to create teaching materials for the students. The large posters of the various forms displayed in the school are some of the projects that Doug and his daughters have created.
Brian Sensenbach
Brian is a 1st Dan black belt pursuing the rank of 2nd Dan. He started as a parent spectator of his then 6 year old son Emmett in 2001. After a year of watching, Brian decided to begin training with his son to get into shape. The goal oriented program at Lee's Martial Arts soon had Brian and Emmett on their way to achieving the rank of Black Belt in 2007.
Brian began in the Masters Club in 2005, the SWAT program (Special Winning Attitude Team) in 2006, and the RTA sparring program for a short time from 2006 to 2007 and enjoys the challenges of each. He likes to lead by example and encourages all students to do their best, using Effort and Enthusiasm as a beginning baseline. Brian believes with the two E's and by setting goals, all things can be accomplished.
Brian enjoys many aspects of training and teaching at Lee's Martial Arts, with the following highlights noted:
- Proud parent of a 13 year old 1st Dan Black Belt
- Training with RTA sparring team
- First tournament - Silver medal in Forms
- First tournament - Bronze medal in sparring

- Kicking
- Instructing all levels and ages of students and witnessing their confidence build as they achieve their goals on the way to Black Belt

Luis is 15 and loves to help other students with their problems, whether it is about Tae Kwon Do or something outside of the Dojang. Jodie Wilson
Taekwondo
has been an excellent athletic activity for Jodie and her kids to do together.
They joined LMA Renton in 2006 and soon after Jodie was invited to join SWAT.
Jodie loves Taekwondo because it not only makes her feel great but has also
helped keep off the 25 pounds she’s lost since starting. Jodie’s children have
benefited from the 5 Tenets of Taekwondo: Courtesy, Integrity, Self-Control,
Perseverance, and Indomitable Spirit, as well as, the Children’s Home Rules.
Taekwondo is an excellent sport that instills not only concentration and focus
but strength, flexibility, and balance which are core skills for success in any
activity in life. Jodie likes helping make LMA the best family martial arts
program around. Besides breaking boards, learning various weapons, inspirational
instructors, and family atmosphere, Jodie has enjoyed teaching Taekwondo. She
teaches family and teen/adult classes in Maple Valley which allows her to work
with people of all ages and skill levels. Jodie plans to make Taekwondo a part
of her life for as long as humanly possible.
Maureen Jordan
Maureen's interest in Tae Kwon Do started in the spring of 2005. While she was in Hawaii visiting her brother, she went to watch her three young nephews during their TKD classes. After observing a couple of classes, she couldn't help but notice what a great work out it was and what an inspiring atmosphere the Dojong was. She was greatly impressed by the feeling of family, respect and discipline. Upon her return home, she sought to find a TKD school like the one her nephews attended. It didn't take long for her to find Lee's Martial Arts and to realize that this was where she wanted to practice TKD.
Since joining Lee's Martial Arts, Maureen has enjoyed being involved in the Black Belt club, the SWAT team and teaching the Friday evening white belt class. Lee's Martial Arts has taught Maureen that it is in discipline that you learn, it in in perseverance that you advance, it is in respect that you create family and it is in giving that you receive. She is grateful for the family that Lee's Martial Arts has become.
Nick Adams
My Martial Arts training began in April of 2005. After my son was born I knew I needed to make a change for the better. One day while driving by LMA Renton I took the first of many steps and contacted Master Robert. Two months after joining LMA Renton, my wife joined me and our Martial Arts journey began. I am testing for my 1st Dan this summer and will continue on as an instructor at LMA Renton.
It is a priority of mine to have my 4 year old son as a part of our LMA family. He has begun taking classes on Saturdays as part of our Lil’ Kickers class. The discipline and respect he is learning is something you can’t put a price on.
I have lost 35 pounds (and counting) since joining LMA. I don’t want to sound like a cliché but I am 38 years old and I now weigh what I did when I graduated high school 20 years ago.
My family is a testament to our school’s motto that a Family Who Kicks Together Stays Together.
Trina Adams
My name is Trina Adams and I have been a student at Lee’s Family Martial Arts since May 2005. My husband Nick started Tae Kwon Do about one month after our son was born. He came home raving about this great school he found and recommended that I try it. Well I shot that idea down quickly; I was not interested in martial arts whatsoever. My only adult experience in martial arts consisted of cardio kickboxing classes and workout tapes. I was rather happy doing my aerobics tapes in my basement nicely hidden away and let’s face it; I occasionally have two left feet and I’m not an athlete. Mom's train free month rolled around and I still had some pre-baby weight left to lose so I gave it a shot. I have now been here for four years and it's been one fo the best experiences in my life. It’s so nice to be around people that want to support, encourage, and motivate me in a positive way. These past four years have truly been an amazing journey; LMA is not just a school; it’s a family.

LIVES BY THE RULE, "FAMILY FIRST"
Theo Proctor
Theo began his Tae Kwon Do journey as a Lil Kicker at
Renton LMA in July 2005. As his parents, we wanted to find a
way for him to participate in a sport that builds
self-confidence. After just one month of classes he returned
to preschool a more confident student.
Theo demonstrated great self-control in Tae Kwon Do and
progressed from Lil Kickers to Lil Ninjas and then joined
the White Belt class seven months later. From there he has
rapidly worked his way through the colored belt levels.
After a couple of years as a student Theo wanted to help
teach a class and was invited to participate on the SWAT
Team. He assists Instructor Geofrey with the Friday Lil
Kickers class.
Tae Kwon Do has given Theo physical fitness and increased
his flexibility. I think this core fitness contributes
greatly to his other great sporting love, skateboarding.
Theo thinks of the LMA teachers and fellow students as
family.
"Tae Kwon Do has helped me out. I'm more flexible, stronger
and it's really fun!"
Will Sykes
Will Sykes has been part of the LMA Renton family
since 2006. He’s an assistant instructor, a Jr. SWAT
team member, and in December 2009 received his black
belt. Will has been busy with Taekwondo and other sports
with a usual weekly schedule of sparring, TKD and
gymnastics demo teams, regular classes, masters’ club,
and finally helping his mom teach classes. Will is a
young man of many talents as he also loves swimming,
sailing, snowboarding, soccer, volleyball, and is
looking forward to trying track. On his journey to black
belt, Will has learned perseverance and showed
indomitable spirit in meeting such a lofty goal before
the age of 11. Will’s advice to anyone interested in
Taekwondo, “TKD isn’t all about kicking and punching but
about self control and being the best you can be.”
Alexa Brandt
Alexa and her Dad, Instructor Doug, have been
training at Lee’s Martial Arts since 2001, when she was
in 1st grade. Tae Kwon Do has helped Alexa gain
confidence, discipline, determination, and leadership
skills. All of these traits help her in her daily life:
with school, teaching classes, instructing, family, and
friends. Alexa has been involved with teaching at the
LMA school in Maple Valley a few days a month and is a
part of the SWAT team.
In 2005 (5th grade), Alexa earned her black belt with
her Dad and in 2007 (7th grade) they earned their 2nd
degrees. She enjoys training and going to classes with
both her Dad and sister, Amy. She has made friends that
will last a lifetime and learned valuable skills that
she can use throughout her life. Alexa loves the
atmosphere at LMA; everyone is part of one big family.
Tae Kwon Do and Lee’s Martial Arts have changed her
life.
Amy Brandt
Amy began her Tae Kwon Do journey in 2003 when she
was 6 years old. Two years before she started, her
sister, Alexa, and her father, Instructor Doug, were
involved in Lee’s Martial Arts. She soon wanted to try
it for herself and joined the school as well. Amy has
stuck with this sport for 7 years and is now 13 years
old and has earned her 1st degree black belt and is on
her way to achieving her 2nd degree.
Amy enjoys Tae Kwon Do so much, because the workouts
are exciting, she has made many friends through Martial
arts, and the community there is very welcoming. Tae
Kwon Do has taught her many life skills that help her
exceed in her daily life at home and at school.
