Adult & Teen Class
In our combined adult/teen classes students learn the fundamentals of
traditional Tae Kwon Do from beginner to advanced levels. In addition to Tae
Kwon Do training, Hapkido, an ancient self-defense form, is also taught. It is
this dynamic combination of Korean martial arts coupled with our cardio kicking
routines that make our adult/teen classes so popular.
Black Belt Requirements
There are 19 poomses (forms) and a set of physical fitness standards that
students must demonstrate to be invited to test for black belt at Lee's Martial
Arts. Students typically take a minimum of one year to ascend from Bo Dan to
First Dan Black Belt.
In our continuing effort to raise the standard of quality at LMA, when students
reach the grade of Bo Dan (junior black belt) they are matched with a lead
instructor or senior belt to guide/assist them in the final leg of their journey
to black belt.
Students also receive a Black Belt Ascension Journal that allows them to chart
their fitness and technical progress in this tremendous endeavor.
Lastly, students are required to compose an essay that outlines some of the
personal triumphs and pitfalls of their Tae Kwon Do journey to black belt. Click
below to read some of these inspiring essays.
